ASUU FC emerges victorious in the Buni Football Challenge, promoting unity and youth empowerment in Yobe State
The Buni Football Challenge came to an exciting end on March 17th, with the highly anticipated semi-finals and final games taking place at the Sadi Sport Center in Potiskum, Yobe State.
The first semi-final match, which was played at 5 pm, proved to be a thrilling contest between ASUU FC and Jago Boys. Both teams displayed their skills and determination on the field, with the game ending in a thrilling one-all draw.
The game had to be separated by the odd goal in a penalty shootout after both teams converted their three initial kicks. In the end, ASUU FC came out on top, securing a spot in the final game.
Shortly after, the second semi-final was played, and it turned out to be a goal fest as the Samba Boys were dispatched four-nil by Ajeenho Academy. The Academy’s dominant performance secured their spot in the final game against ASUU FC.
The final game was a hard-fought battle between ASUU FC and Ajeenho Academy. Both teams put up a fierce fight, but it was ASUU FC who emerged victorious with a two-nil win.
ASUU FC’s performance was commendable, with their players displaying excellent teamwork and skill on the field.
Before the game, the sponsor of the tournament, Dr. Hassan Gimba, briefly addressed the finalists, highlighting the importance of sports to the people of Yobe State.
He also emphasized that the Mai Mala Buni administration recognizes the significance of sports and other sectors in the state and indicated that the Governor will continue to support sports and other vital sectors in the state if he is reelected.
