Bandits attack Kaduna community, burn police armour vehicle
A community leader, Alhaji Yahaya Kimbi, in Kimbi Village of Randagi Ward in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State has disclosed that bandits have stormed his community on Monday morning and attacked an immovable armoured vehicle belonging to the Mobile Police.
In an interview with newsmen in Kaduna, Alhaji Kimbi said the incident occured on Monday morning when about eight bandits holding AK 47 stormed Kimbi Village.
“The attack happened on Monday morning around 1:00 am and in the process the hoodlums burnt the vehicle to ashes.
“However, the bandits did not kill or kidnap anyone during the attack. I think their only target was to destroy the armour vehicle.
It was gathered that many have fled the village for fear of attack.
But the community leader disclosed that security agencies have come to take stock of the damage incurred as a result of the attack, saying, many residents are going about with their daily activities.
As at the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Muhammad Jalige could not be reached for reaction.
The police and the state government are yet to give an official statement over the attack.
It would be recalled that Birnin-Gwari local government has been in the news in recent times following activities of bandits and Ansaru terrorists group who have dominated many villages and rendered over 50, 000 people in the area refugees.
