Buhari, Atiku mourn victims of Lagos train – BRT crash
President Muhammadu Buhari and former vice president Atiku Abubakar have mourned victims of the tran/BRT bus accident in Lagos.
The train accident involving a staff bus and a train claimed six lives with 79 persons injured on Thursday morning.
President Buhari in a statement issued by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, said the unfortunate incident is stressing and extremely sad, and prayed for the souls of the deceased and quick recovery to the injured.
The president commended the Lagos State authorities and federal government agencies for promptly getting involved in relief work.
Similarly, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in his reaction to the sad incident, urged relevant authorities to swiftly investigate the cause of the accident and take appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
He said, “The unfortunate crash of a train and a BRT bus in Lagos this morning is sad news not only to Lagosians but to all of us Nigerians.
