Desmond Elliott defeats Bode of Labour Party in Surulere with 17,837 votes

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Surulere 1 in Surulere Constituency area of Lagos State, Mr. Desmond Elliot, has been declared winner of the state Assembly election held on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Elliott who was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) polled 17,837 votes to defeat his closest rival, Adebayo Bode of the Labour Party, (LP) with 7,822 votes.

Also, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Thompson Sulaimon Abolaji, polled 1,045 votes.

The result was announced by the INEC Returning Officer, RO, Dr. O.J Fenuga.

Elliott, prior to his election victory on Saturday visited the Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila for his support towards the state assembly election in Lagos State.

The state lawmaker describes the Speaker as his father, mentor, leader and speaker of the nation.

He said, “Man many many thanks to my Father, me tory, leader and speaker of the nation Representative Femi Gbajabiamila. Thank you boss, most grateful.”
