Governors Zulum, Buni vote at polling units, commend INEC for smooth process

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has voted in the ongoing Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections at Unit 001 Ajari Ward, in Mafa Local Government Area in the state.

Governor Zulum arrived at the polling unit at 10:37 a.m. with his entourage and was accredited and voted at 10:40 a.m.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor, after voting, commended INEC for starting the exercise on schedule in the state.

Zulum said that the process was faster than that of the Presidential election and national assembly elections.

“I am also optimistic that this will be the case in other parts of the state, “he said.

He commended the people for the large turnout and the manner they conducted themselves to exercise their civic duty.

Similarly, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has expressed optimism with the way INEC officials and Yobe electorates conducted themselves during the Governorship and state Assembly elections in the state.

Governor Buni expresses his feelings shortly after casting his vote at Bulturam Yerimari Polling Unit- 004 in his hometown Buni-Gari, in Gujba Local Government.

The Governor was impressed with reports about the peaceful manner in which the election was conducted across the state.

He urged politicians, political parties, traditional rulers and parents to caution their wards and supporters to shun violence and thuggery during and after the elections.

Buni further commended Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security agencies for ensuring orderliness and a smooth voting process.

Governor Buni and Zulum are seeking re-election in Yobe and Borno respectively.
