INEC releases names of newly elected senators
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the complete list of the 10th Senate’s incoming members who emerged winners at the just concluded National Assembly election held on February 25th, 2023.
In the list, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) constitutes the majority with 55 lawmakers while the major opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) comes second with 33 lawmakers.
The election has new members and incumbent lawmakers who were able to retain their seats in the Red and Green chambers that make up the legislative branch of the government.
Ripples report that eight names are missing from the list that was recently made public because.
However, INEC has highlighted that supplemental elections would be held in the affected senatorial districts of Enugu East, Plateau Central, Sokoto East, North, and South.
Others are Yobe South, Zamfara Central, and Kebbi North.
