Former Arsenal star, Emmanuel Eboue, speaks about financial ruin, homelessness after divorce from wife
Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Eboue has spoken out about losing his fortune and being on the brink of suicide after a bitter divorce battle with his ex-wife Aurelie.
Eboue has reportedly lost all his money to Aurelie in their divorce settlement, which included giving up his London home to her, and is now facing eviction.
He has blamed his naivety and his wife’s handling of his finances for his financial ruin, saying that he was never given guidance on how to manage his earnings.
Eboue, 34, made millions of pounds during his time at Arsenal and then earned over £1.5 million a year at Turkish side Galatasaray.

However, he admits that he sent most of his earnings to his wife for their children and signed whatever she asked him to sign. Eboue has surrendered his expensive cars and now relies on public transport.
In an emotional interview with the Mirror, Eboue stated that he is seeking divine intervention to prevent him from taking his own life.
He said, “I want God to help me. Only he can help take these thoughts from my mind.”
The fallen star has also revealed that he sleeps on a mattress in a friend’s living room and is afraid of being forcibly evicted from his home by the police.
Despite his difficult situation, Eboue remains positive and hopes that his story will serve as a lesson to other footballers who may find themselves in similar situations. He has urged young players to be careful with their finances and to seek professional advice on how to manage their money.
