Gunmen storm Kano village, kidnap elderly man, shoot 2 others

The Police Command in Kano State has reported that gunmen kidnapped a 60-year-old man and shot two others in Gangarbi village of Rano Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Commissioner of Police in the state, Manman Dauda, the police received information at approximately 1:30 am on Monday that unknown armed bandits had stormed Gangarbi village and abducted Na’ayya Gangarbi.

Dauda stated that a combined team of the divisional patrol, JTF, and anti-kidnap squad immediately rushed to the scene.

He explained that two individuals who sustained bullet wounds were Maskuru Ukaisha, who was shot in the right leg, and Salisu Ibrahim, who was shot in the left shoulder. They were evacuated and taken to Rogo General hospital for treatment.

Dauda also stated that additional armed security personnel had been deployed to the area to track and arrest the gunmen and any other miscreants undermining peaceful coexistence among the residents.

“Well-armed security personnel and other tactical teams, along with vigilante group members, have been deployed to the area to ensure the successful rescue of the victims,” he said.

He added that an investigation had commenced to apprehend the abductors and rescue the victims.
