Iftar: Gov. Sani Bello commends security agents for relative peace in the state

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has commended all the security agencies for their efforts towards ensuring peace in the state.

Mary Noel-Berje, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, made this known in a press release.

The Governor gave the commendation during a special Iftar (breaking of fast) at his official residence, Government House, Minna. He hosted heads of security in the state, Permanent Secretaries, Director Generals, Board members, Commission members and Parastatals.

Governor Sani Bello noted that there is relative peace in the state now compared to what was obtainable in the past. He attributed the appreciable peace in the state to the collective efforts by the government and security agents.

According to him, “We collectively evolved strategies to move Niger State from security issues to administrative matters. There is synergy among the security agencies which has made it possible to achieve the successes made”.

The Governor also appreciated all the Permanent Secretaries in the state for providing the needed support to his administration.

He said his administration has recorded lots of successes which are obvious and some would be better appreciated after his tenure.

The Governor appointed about 30 Permanent Secretaries based on merit, and they have been hardworking. He charged them to extend their support to the next administration, especially since it is the same party.

Similarly, Governor Sani Bello commended all the Director Generals, Board and Commission members, as well as all those who have been supportive of his administration.

In his remarks on behalf of all the security agencies in the state, Commissioner of Police (CP), Niger State Command, Joshua Ogundele Ayodeji acknowledged that the security challenges have been tamed to a reasonable level, especially with regards to youth restiveness in Minna metropolis. He also said the security agencies in the state have enjoyed high level support from the Governor, describing him as “a listening and supportive Governor”.

Dr. Imam Abubakar, speaking on behalf of all the Permanent Secretaries in the State, said it was a privilege to work closely with Governor Sani Bello and be part of his success stories. He assured that the Permanent Secretaries will continue to work hard for the benefit of the state.

Special prayers were made by the Director General of Religious Affairs, Abubakar Rabiu Beji, and Dr. Joseph Kolo.

The Governor has hosted past and present State Assembly members, the 8th and 9th State of Assembly members, present and past commissioners, as well as former and serving Special Advisers to the special Iftar.
