Jumoke Akindele-Ajulo, Ondo State’s first female speaker, becomes a mother at 54

Mrs Jumoke Akindele-Ajulo, the first female Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, has given birth to a baby at the age of 54.

Akindele, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), served in the Assembly between 2011 and 2019, and became speaker in 2014 before being removed in 2017.

She represented the Okitipupa State Constituency 1 in the Assembly.

The news of her baby’s arrival was announced on social media, with friends and political associates congratulating her.

One post on the Facebook page of an associate, Segun Odidi, read: “What God cannot do doesn’t exist. The first female Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly delivered a bouncing baby on Saturday. Her first child! What a joyous news! I’m so happy for you big sis. Congratulations Rt. Hon Jumoke Akindele.”
