United won the game after 90 full minutes 30 minutes extra time without a goal.
The game finally decided by penalty shootout. Brighton were first to kick as both teams lived up to expectations after taking five kicks each.
The atmosphere was tensed at the start of the second round of penalties as both scored their sixth kicks.
The stadium got more tensed after Brighton’s Solly March ballooned the ball over the post and it was United’s turn when Victor Lindelof wasted no time to perfectly place the ball into the back of the net to make it 6-7 in favour United.
Tonight’s victory for United makes it their 21st FA Cup final, the most qualifications of any club with Arsenal.
Recall on Saturday, City qualified after beating Sheffield United 3-0 on Saturday.
The final of the competition will be on June 3, 2023 at Wembley Stadium.
