Gunshots rang out from close proximity to the church, alarming the worshippers. The bandits raided the church, forcibly taking away 40 individuals.
Out of the kidnapped worshippers, 15 managed to escape during the abduction, leaving 25 still held captive.
Rev. Hayab revealed that there has been no communication from the abductors, but efforts are underway to establish contact with them in order to secure the release of the remaining hostages.
Expressing hope, the religious leader urged the kidnappers to release the remaining 25 victims and reunite them with their loved ones.
However, there has been no official confirmation of the incident from the state government or the police at this time.
Despite multiple attempts to reach the state police command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, through phone calls and text messages, our correspondent has not received a response.
