NNPP, Kwankwaso’s camp dismiss alleged Tinubu meeting as false
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and an associate of its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election, Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso, have debunked rumours of a meeting between their leader and President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The NNPP stated that they have no knowledge of any meeting between their party leader and President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Reports had emerged suggesting that Bola Tinubu had met with Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, who was one of his opponents in the February 25, 2023 elections.
Kwankwaso, representing the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), secured fourth place in the election, winning only in Kano State, which is a stronghold of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the reports, Kwankwaso and Tinubu allegedly met in Paris, the capital of France, on Monday.

It was gathered that Kwankwaso left Nigeria on Monday and is scheduled to return in three days.
Further reports suggested that Tinubu had urged Kwankwaso to collaborate with his political associates to form a government of national unity, and additional meetings were said to have been planned.
The reports claimed that Kwankwaso’s wife and an elected member of the NNPP, Abdulmimin Jibrin, accompanied Kwankwaso to the meeting. On the other side, Tinubu’s wife and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, were also reported to have been present.
However, the National Publicity Secretary of the NNPP, Major Agbo, clarified that they were not aware of any meeting.
“We have only come across this report just like you have. It is a social media report, and anyone can post such information. We are not aware of any meeting between our leader and the President-elect. If our party had any involvement in Tinubu’s government, we would not conceal it. It would be made known,” Agbo said.
An associate of Kwankwaso, ES Shemang, also dismissed the alleged meeting between Kwankwaso and Tinubu as false.
“It is untrue. No such meeting took place. Therefore, the alleged meeting is false,” he said.
