5-man panel affirms Adeleke as Osun state governor
The Supreme Court on Tuesday has finally laid to rest the eight-month legal battle over the authentic winner of the July 16, 2022 governorship election in Osun State after a five-man panel affirmed Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Governor of the State.

Neptune Prime reports that the judgment is in accordance with the March 25 judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja which earlier upheld Adeleke’s victory.
The Appeal Court had, in its judgement, set aside an earlier judgment by the Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which held in favour of Oyetola and sacked Adeleke.
Recall in September 2022, Oyetola and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) headed to the Court of Appeal in Abuja to challenge the victory of Adeleke after he lost by a difference of 3.5%.
