Buhari confers country’s highest honours on Tinubu, Shettima (Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday conferred the country’s highest honour on the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR).
Also, the Vice-President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, was conferred with the Grand Commander of Order of the Niger (GCON) honour.

The event took place at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
The two were handed with the transition documents as part of activities ahead of the May 29 inauguration and also in line with Executive Order 14 which mandates that the transition council issues handover notes containing, amongst other things, proposed policy direction for the incoming administration.
Both Tinubu and Shettima will be sworn into office on Monday, May 29 as president and vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria respectively.
