Eaglets stun South Africa to qualify for quarters 

Nigeria’s U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, have quarter finals after beating South Africa 3-2 in the ongoing TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

Eaglets came from a one goal down to seal a win against South Africa.

South Africa opened the scoreline in the sixth minute courtesy Mkhawana but the game was leveled after Adah Agada found the back of the net for Nigeria.

The South African took the lead just before the half time and shortly after they returned from the break Eke reduced the tally to 2-2.

Idris Abdullahi scored the winning goal in the 64th minute helping his team book the ticket for the next phase of the competition.

Nigeria and Morocco ended the ended the group with six points apiece. But it is Morocco that emerge leaders on head-to-head rule.
