Gov. El-Rufai fires Assembly Clerk, others

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has reportedly approved the dismissal of Bello Zubairu Idris, the Clerk of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

Muyiwa Adekeye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication, made this announcement in a statement.

Additionally, the governor has also sanctioned the immediate termination of Yau Yunusa Tanko, a permanent secretary, and Francis Kozah, the secretary of the Kaduna Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA).

Moreover, Stephen Joseph, a permanent secretary in the state, has opted for retirement, which the governor has accepted.

Last week, during the launch of a book titled “Putting The People First,” authored by veteran journalist and public commentator Mr. Emmanuel Ado, Governor El-Rufai expressed his determination to continue demolishing houses and removing corrupt individuals until the very end of his term.

He vowed to leave no stone unturned in his mission to eradicate wrongdoing, stating, “Any bad thing we find, we will remove so that the next governor does not need to do it again. Watch out until the eleventh hour when we shall quit office. We will continue to dismiss corrupt individuals and eliminate misconduct.”

This statement came shortly after the revocation of nine properties owned by Ahmed Makarfi, former governor of the state, by the El-Rufai administration. These properties have been marked for demolition.
