INEC swears in Dr. Mahmuda Isah for second term as REC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has sworn in Dr. Mahmuda Isah for a second and final term as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).
Isah took his oath of office during the Commission’s weekly meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.
The ceremony was attended by INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, national commissioners, and the Commission’s secretary.
During the ceremony, Prof. Yakubu urged Isah to remain loyal to the Nigerian people and to always abide by the provisions of the law.
Isah previously served as the REC in Jigawa and Kaduna States after his appointment in January 2018.
His first term concluded in January 2023, and he has now been deployed to the Federal Capital Territory.
Notably, he holds a PhD in Petroleum Law.
