Mahmuda Mamman assumes office as Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Works and Housing
Following the recent redeployment of permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, Mahmuda Mamman has assumed the position of permanent secretary at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing.
In a statement released in Abuja by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Blessing Lere-Adams, Mahmuda expressed his commitment to an all-inclusive and transparent administration during his address to the ministry’s management staff.
“We will foster an open government, promoting transparency and accountability to accomplish our objectives,” he stated.
Mahmuda emphasized the importance of relying on the professional advice and support of the management staff to make informed decisions that will propel the country’s infrastructural development forward.
“As professionals, I depend on your guidance and expertise to fulfil our responsibilities. Rest assured that I am a team player, and we will strive for an inclusive administration,” he added.
Prior to Mahmuda’s appointment, Engineer Folorunsho Esan, the Director overseeing the office of the Permanent Secretary, expressed confidence in Mahmuda’s ability to provide purposeful leadership and advance the ministry due to his extensive experience.
Engineer Esan provided an overview of the activities undertaken by the departments, units, and parastatals of the Ministry. He highlighted that the core mandate of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing is to focus on road provision, housing, and urban renewal.
In his welcome address, Aliyu Abdullahi, the Director of Human Resource Management in the Ministry, assured Mahmuda of the full support and cooperation of the management and staff.
Mahmuda Mamman, an indigene of Potiskum, Yobe State, is a graduate of Political Science from the University of Maiduguri. He began his civil service career in May 1992 as a Personnel Officer II and has steadily climbed the ranks to his current position as the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing.
