My nomination as chairman governing board Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), a call to greater service, and one which I am not taking lightly – Bar. Bukar Bashir Bale
I’m overwhelmed by the level of confidence reposed in me by the President Muhammadu Buhari to be nominated as Chairman Governing Board Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), a task I have found to be both thrilling and challenging.
Generally, I am thrilled, and I am excited because of the responsibilities, but I am also conscious of the fact that this is a trust and I must not take it lightly. I feel the need to please God and to justify the trust of man by doing this work diligently, I must do everything to honor God and to justify the trust in me by Mr. President and the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk.

I urged all our good people of Northeast Yobe, Bauchi, Borno, Adamawa, Gombe, and Taraba states Nigerians to give maximum support to the Northeast Development Commission NEDC to achieve the objectives for which it was established, the rebuilding of the Northeast after decades of destruction by the Boko Haram insurgency. Talking about the North East Stabilisation and Development Master Plan (NESDMP) aimed at facilitating a transformative growth of the region and lifting citizens in the region out of poverty, there is a need for all hands on deck towards achieving the Commission mandate for recovery, stabilization, and paving a path towards long-term social-economic development of the North-East region.
As Chairman of the Governing Board, I will justify the confidence reposed in me by President Muhammadu Buhari and our entire good people of North East region. We will work closely with our incoming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our North East Governors for renewed hope in Nigeria. Insha’Allah.
