No US citizens involved in Anambra attack – White House
The White House has confirmed that no US citizen was involved in the attack on officials from the United States Embassy in Anambra State on Tuesday.
Reports indicated that there was an attack in Anambra State late Tuesday, resulting in the tragic deaths of four staff members from the US Embassy in Nigeria.
During an address at a press briefing, John Kirby, the spokesperson for the national security council, stated that no US citizens were harmed in the incident.

Kirby acknowledged that it appeared a US convoy vehicle had been attacked but emphasized that no US citizens were involved or injured.
He also mentioned that there were some casualties and potentially fatalities, but further information was still being gathered by the State Department.
Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed that gunmen had indeed attacked a convoy transporting staff from the US consulate on Tuesday.
Tochukwu sadly revealed that two police operatives and two consulate staff members had lost their lives in the attack. Tragically, the gunmen also set fire to the victims’ bodies.
The State Department is actively investigating the incident, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
