Southern Borno Development Association urges lawmakers to back Betara’s speakership bid

The Southern Borno Development Association has called on members of the House of Representatives to support Muktar Betara’s ambition for the top seat in the House of Representatives as the struggle for leadership of the 10th National Assembly intensifies.
Ambassador Dauda Danladi, Chairman of the association, disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja, emphasizing the need for competent and capable lawmakers to lead the 10th assembly.
This declaration follows the zoning plan released by the National Working Committee of the APC.
Danladi stated that Betara deserves the position due to his track record of engaging in robust debates, presenting insightful and constructive arguments on the House floor.
“He deserves the position of Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, which is why the association is fully committed to realizing this mandate. For instance, from 2007 to 2021, Honourable Betara served as the Chairman of the sub-committee on NDIC, banking, and currency. He also held positions as a member of the House Committee on Interior and subsequently as Chairman of the sub-committee on Customs, Immigration, and Prisons Office.
“Betara is a detribalized Nigerian who fosters peace and maintains amicable relationships with individuals of all ethnicities, tribes, religions, and geopolitical backgrounds,” Danladi said.
He further added that Betara’s leadership as Speaker of the House of Representatives would be a true reflection of the House’s deserving leadership.
Danladi appealed to the APC and members of the House of Representatives to endorse Betara and support his candidacy for the Speakership in the 10th National Assembly.
