While in captivity, Hauwa got married in Gulukos to one Salman, a cameraman to the late terrorist leader, Shekau.

Salman later died in Lake Chad and Hauwa Maltha was married off again to one Malam Muhammad in Gobara and had 2 children for him. Malam Muhammad, her second husband was also killed in Ukuba terrorist enclave in Sambisa forest during clashes between JAS/ISWAP.

Since her rescue, Hauwa who is about 8 months and 2 weeks pregnant, has undergone a thorough medical examination along with her baby.

Having been adequately resuscitated, Hauwa and her baby, Fatima, will be handed over to the Borno State Government for further management.

Her rescue comes barely 24 hours after the 151 Task Force Battalion Banki troops, Operation Hadin Kai, successfully eliminated an unspecified number of Boko Haram terrorists and rescued two humanitarian workers in the Sambisa forest.

It was gathered that the insurgents were killed after the troops in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force and Hybrid forces, stormed the Hideouts of terrorists in Gargash in the axis of Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
