Neptune Prime had earlier reported that the NLC had on Friday, June 2 announced that it would embark on a nationwide strike following the removal of subsidy announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his inauguration last week Monday, May 29.

The nationwide strike was scheduled for Wednesday, June 7.

This comes after the president announced that his administration would no longer continue with fuel subsidy.

Consequently, few hours after the announcement, it was observed that most filling stations in the country had increased the prices of fuel.

Also, the announcement of the removal of subsidy led to the upward adjustment of fuel prices by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited on Wednesday, May 31.
