Tinubu meets with governors, urges cooperation between states, federal govt

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has called for cooperation between the state governors and the federal government in order to defeat poverty and underdevelopment in the country.

The president made the call during a meeting he had with the 36 state governors in the country on Wednesday, June 7 at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The president is optimistic that the nation can only overcome its economic challenges if the citizens citizens collaborate as one great entity.

“It is my belief that to conquer our nation’s long-standing challenges such as poverty and underdevelopment, we must collaborate as occupants of one great house for the progress and well-being of our nation,” he stated via a tweet.

The governors were led by the Chairman of the Nigerian Governor’s Forum (NGF), Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State.
