NIMSA confirms death of 3 medical students in Marina Resort boat mishap

In a heartbreaking turn of events, it has been reported that the three students who went missing in the Marina Resort boat mishap have tragically lost their lives.

The identities of the deceased have been revealed as Aisha Celestine Ogwu, a student of the University of Uyo, along with Hamza Kabir and Mustapha Tukur, both hailing from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

The entire student community and their families are now mourning the untimely passing of these bright individuals. Their loss is deeply felt, and thoughts and prayers have been sent out to their grieving families and friends.

Recalled that a boat cruise organised as part of the activities for the annual NIMSA Health Week in Calabar capsized and subsequent rescue efforts for the missing students lasted for several hours

It was reported that authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the devastating incident with the aim to determine the cause and hold those responsible accountable.

Similarly, the safety protocols and standards adhered to during the boat excursion will be thoroughly examined to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
