39-year-old man rapes 7-year-old girl, blames it on drunkenness
Sadiq Ahmed, a 39-year-old man of Abuja Road in Yola Town, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State, has admitted to defiling a seven-year-old girl, and blamed the act on drunkenness.
Ahmed said that he had carnal knowledge of the minor in the neighbourhood after taking a local alcoholic drink called burukutu.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday, June 12.
The suspect has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command where he narrated the incident at the police headquarters on Tuesday.
In his defence, he committed the crime while he was drunk.
He said he took nothing unlawful other than the burukutu (an alcoholic beverage, brewed from the grains of Guinea corn (Sorghum bicolor and millet) and that he deeply regretted harming the little girl.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest of Sadiq Ahmed, explaining that the suspect was nabbed after the victim’s father lodged a complaint.
The father told the police that the suspect came to his house while he and other family members were away and gave his daughter N10, got her away and defiled her.
