Ali Nuhu, Hadiza Gabon shaped my career – Maryam Yahaya

Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano

Maryam Yahaya, a wealthy and beautiful actress from Kannywood, was born in 1997 in the Goron Dutse area of Kano State.

She attended both primary and secondary schools in Kano before venturing into Kannywood. Her first film, “TARADIDI,” did not achieve success.

However, her popularity soared after she was featured by Ali Nuhu, a renowned actor, in his hit film “MANSOOR.” This elevated her status and made her a highly sought-after artist.

Following the success of “MANSOOR,” Maryam became arrogant and stubborn, which led to her being blacklisted by producers and directors.

In 2021, she fell seriously ill and came close to death. As her condition worsened, her parents decided to discontinue medical treatment and sought spiritual remedies.

Unfortunately, the media exacerbated the situation by reporting false claims that Maryam had contracted terminal illnesses.

Since then, Maryam has vowed never to associate with the press again, particularly on social media.

However, last week, she expressed the need for the press, now that she has matured as an actress and is ready to face the world. In an exclusive interview with Neptune Prime Network, she shared undisclosed information about herself and addressed past stories that painted her in a negative light.

These stories, she claimed, caused public resentment towards her. One such story falsely claimed that her colleagues in Kannywood, especially after her collaboration with Ali Nuhu, were responsible for her illness.

While Maryam admits to being perceived as arrogant and stubborn, she explains that she deliberately adopted these traits to avoid unwanted attention from the public.

Grateful for her instant success, she attributes it to Ali Nuhu and Hadiza Gabon, who have taken her under their wings and acted as mentors. Maryam speaks highly of Hadiza, describing her as a kind-hearted and generous individual.

Regarding her love life, Maryam reveals that her primary focus is her acting career. She plans to announce her marriage plans on her 26th birthday, which falls on July 17th next month. However, she admits that she is not eager to get married at the moment.

Maryam faced numerous challenges before achieving success as an actress. Consequently, she deliberately created an image of arrogance to deter wealthy individuals who sought to exploit her.

She values her independence and chooses to associate only with those she respects. She often travels to the Holy Land to pray for success and long life.

Additionally, she supports her parents financially and has overcome the criticism she faced when people referred to her as the “actress who used to sell Soya Bean Cake (AWARA).”

Today, Maryam enjoys a life of luxury and runs a boutique business. Those who choose to dislike her are free to do so, as she believes that her accomplishments are a result of God’s kindness. She has reached a point in her life where it is difficult to bring her down.
