Bandits murder businessman, abduct teenage daughter in Zamfara

Suspected bandits have killed a businessman identified as Emeka Onyeji and kidnapped his teenage daughter, Precious, in Gusau, Zamfara State.
The incident occurred on the night of June 13, 2023, when armed gunmen invaded Emeka’s residence in the Bayan NTA area of Gusau. Using a sword, they fatally stabbed him before abducting his daughter.
Details of the incident remain scarce at the moment, but it has been reported that the bandits forcibly broke through a wall to gain access to the victim’s house.
Emeka Onyeji was the Chairman of the Amaiiyi Welfare Association in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
It is worth noting that Zamfara State has been plagued by a series of attacks from bandits. Additionally, some traditional rulers have faced accusations of collaborating with these criminals.
Notable among the bandits in the region are Turji and his dangerous gang, many of whom hail from Zamfara State. Religious leaders have also accused the former governor of colluding with the bandits, including providing them with vehicles and money.
