Benjamin Kalu emerges unopposed as Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps

Benjamin Kalu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly.

Members-elect have unanimously adopted Kalu for the esteemed position.

In contrast to the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, who faced competition from two other aspirants, Kalu emerged unopposed for the Deputy Speaker position.

The confirmation of his uncontested victory came when the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambuwal, administered the oath of office to Kalu, officially appointing him as the Deputy Speaker.
