Lagos lawmakers reelect Obasa as speaker for 3rd term

In a bid to kick start the next legislative tenure, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have reelected Mudashiru Obasa, as the Speaker of the House for the third term.

Neptune Prime reports that Honourable Obasa was on Tuesday nominated by Temitope Adewale, lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye 1 state constituency.

Obasa emerged as Speaker of the 10th Assembly shortly after the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, proclaimed the Assembly.

His first tenure as Speaker of the Assembly was during the 8th Assembly of the State in 2015.

Meanwhile, the governor in a congratulatory message to the Speaker and his Deputy, Honourable, Mojisola Miranda, said he stand ready to work with the leadership of the House in driving policies in ensuring the hopes and dreams of every Lagosian is achieved.

“I stand ready to work with the 10th Assembly, collaborating to drive impactfull policies and fostering an environment where the hopes and dreams of every Lagosian can be realized,” the governor said.

“I, also believe in the leadership that will emerge in this 10th House of Assembly and I am confident that our collective efforts will usher in an era of unprecedented growth and development for Lagos State.”
