Man City beat United 2-1 to win 7th FA Cup 

Manchester City have clinched their seventh FA Cup after beating rivals, Manchester United 2-1 at the Wembley stadium on Saturday.

City scored the fastest goal in the FA Cup history courtesy, Ilkay Gundogan 13 seconds after kick off, smashing the ball over United goalkeeper David De Gea into the back of the net to give his side an early lead.

City who are on course for a treble in the season dominated a larger part of the first half until United leveled the game after they were awarded a penalty as captain Bruno Fernandes delivered a fine strike at the centre of the box to make it 1-1 in the 33rd minute.

The battle for the soul of Manchester resumed as both teams returned on the pitch for the second half.

City quickly took over possession after United were perhaps confused in the midfield area. It was a corner set piece in the 51st minute after Kevin De Bruyne’s cross untouched and headed straight to Gundogan who volley undeflected needed just a push from De Gea in far right of the post and the ball went in to make it 2-1 giving City the winning goal.

Both teams desperately needed the silverware but it was City with their display of professionalism that earned them the cup.

City will next Saturday face Inter Milan for the ultimate – the UEFA Champions League in Instabul, Turkey.
