Gov. Bago unveils ambitious plan for dual carriageway in Agaie
Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has made a commitment to construct a dual carriageway in Agaie as part of his urban renewal policy. .
The announcement was made by Bologi Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, in a statement.
During his visit to the Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, as part of the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations, Governor Bago expressed his intention to send a team of experts to assess the area and develop a plan for the project.
The Governor called for understanding and support from the people, acknowledging that the implementation of his policies and programs may cause temporary discomfort.
He also pledged to facilitate the establishment of more commercial banks, empower women, and provide fertilizer and farm implements to boost food production in Agaie.
Governor Bago emphasized his commitment to the rapid development of the state, aligning with the core principles of his administration.
He stated, “We have promised urban renewal to the people, and we are continuing our visits to all the Emirate Councils to celebrate with the people. Our promise to provide infrastructure such as hospitals and roads remains a priority, and work will begin soon.”
The Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, expressed his delight at the Governor’s visit and assured him of their unwavering support for the success of his administration.
Following a closed-door meeting between the Governor, the Emir, and other officials, they joined the residents of Agaie at the pavilion to kick off the Sallah Durbar, a festive celebration.
Governor Bago was accompanied by his Deputy, Yakubu Garba, Secretary to the State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Gawu, Chief of Staff, Usman Abdullahi Gbatamangi, and other government officials, including some APC stalwarts.
