JAMB Under Fire: Anambra student Ejikeme Mmesoma unveils original result amidst accusations

Ejikeme Mmesoma, a student who participated in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has released compelling evidence against the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) after being accused of fabricating false results in the 2023 exams.

Mmesoma, who attends the Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra State, expressed her distress over JAMB’s claims and presented the original result she obtained from the examination board’s portal, as reported by Daily Trust.

On Sunday, July 2, Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, stated in a press release, “The student who was widely celebrated for scoring the highest mark of 362 in the just-concluded examination scored 249 in the UTME.”

JAMB alleged that Mmesoma had manipulated the original result to seek favour from the Nigerian public.

Consequently, JAMB announced the withdrawal of the result and stated that Mmesoma would face legal consequences.

However, during her statement on Monday, Mmesoma vehemently denied any involvement in forging her result and said, “I am not capable of forging my result. I printed my result on the JAMB portal.” She further asserted, “I have been a brilliant student from my primary school days.”

Mmesoma revealed that she had been summoned to a police station where she provided a statement and was informed that an ongoing investigation was taking place. The whole situation has left her feeling traumatized, as she believes there must be some problem or misunderstanding at play.
