Adamu’s absence noted as APC NWC members meet in Abuja

Senator Abdullahi Adamu was noticeably absent as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s National Working Committee (NWC) gathered in Abuja on Monday.

Neptune Prime had previously reported that Adamu submitted his resignation late last night.

Reliable sources have confirmed to this publication that Adamu, who emerged as the national chairman during the party’s national convention in March 2022, has sent his resignation letter to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, in anticipation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s return from the African Union (AU) meeting in Kenya.

One source stated that Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa State, sent the resignation letter to the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, at around 4pm on Sunday.

“He has resigned. The letter, which bears his signature, has been sent to the villa. It was addressed to President Tinubu. However, since the President is currently away in Kenya for the AU meeting, the letter was sent to his Chief of Staff,” the source disclosed.

Today, the APC NWC meeting was held at the party secretariat in Abuja, with the Deputy National Chairman (North), Abubakar Kyari, chairing the session.

Certain sources within the party have stated that Senator Adamu’s resignation coincided with the resignation of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
