UNIOSUN suspends student involved in N1.5 million robbery incident

Miss Victory Ehiremen Ahiante, a student at Osun State University (UNIOSUN), has been suspended by the institution following her alleged involvement in a robbery case where her boyfriend was robbed of N1.5 million in Ikire town.

Ahiante, who is a 100-level student in the Department of English and Literary Studies, was accused of luring her boyfriend, whom she met on social media, to Osun State. She allegedly conspired with one Ifanla and others to rob him of his phone and transfer over N1.5 million from his account.

Expressing shock at the allegations, UNIOSUN Vice Chancellor, Prof Clement Adebooye, announced Ahiante’s suspension at the main campus in Osogbo. He stated that her behavior was not in line with the standards of character and learning expected of UNIOSUN students.

In accordance with the university’s regulations, Ahiante has been placed on indefinite suspension pending the resolution of her case. The Vice Chancellor also issued a warning to other students, emphasizing that the institution does not tolerate any involvement in criminal activities.

“As a renowned institution committed to academic excellence and core values of responsible, law-abiding, and highly patriotic citizens, we remain steadfast in upholding these principles,” the UNIOSUN Vice Chancellor stated.
