President Tinubu condoles with family of 2-year-old boy killed by NDLEA operatives in Delta

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of 2-year-old Ivan Omhonrina, who was fatally struck by a stray bullet during an operation conducted by officers of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

In an official statement released by his Special Adviser, Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Dele Alake, President Tinubu mourned the loss of little Ivan Omhonrina and extended his heartfelt sympathies to his grieving parents. The President emphasized the pain and heartbreak of losing an innocent child in such a tragic manner.

“Ivan did not deserve to die in this way. It is imperative that we take all necessary measures to ensure that no other individual goes through this horrendous experience ever again,” President Tinubu said.

The President also offered prayers for the swift recovery of Eronmonsele, who reportedly sustained injuries during the unfortunate incident.

Expressing his absolute condemnation of the incident, President Tinubu called for a thorough and expeditious investigation by the NDLEA management to bring those responsible for this act of tragedy to justice.

Additionally, he urged security agents to exercise heightened professionalism and caution during their operations to prevent the unnecessary endangerment of innocent Nigerian lives.

As the community and the nation mourn the loss of young Ivan Omhonrina, President Tinubu’s empathetic words bring some solace to the devastated parents while reinforcing the urgent need for accountability and improved safety protocols within law enforcement agencies.
