Gov. Buni rolls out measures to ease impact of subsidy removal in Yobe

In response to the challenges faced by the citizens of Yobe State following the recent removal of fuel subsidies, Governor Mai Mala Buni, has made a promised to provide palliatives to ease impact of the hike in fuel prices and others.

In a statement issued by his Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni assured the public that the government is committed to alleviating the hardships caused by the subsidy removal.

“Government is well aware of the difficulties resulting from the subsidy removal and is determined to address these critical issues by providing palliatives to our people,” Governor Buni stated.

The governor also stressed the importance of ensuring the continuity of essential services, particularly inter and intra-town transport, to ensure smooth operations and easy accessibility for the public.

Additionally, he highlighted the significance of supporting educational pursuits and announced plans to introduce shuttle buses for tertiary institution students at affordable costs.

Governor Buni, however, called on the people of Yobe State to collaborate with the government in implementing these proposed measures, as well as other policies and programs aimed at the overall development of the state.

The statement further mentioned that Governor Buni had recently participated in meetings of the Nigeria Governors Forum and the Nigeria Economic Council, adding that the representatives from states and the federal government discussed strategies to mitigate the effects of the subsidy removal.
