Subsidy Removal: Gov. Fintiri approves N10,000 monthly, rice as palliatives for civil servants, pensioners

Governors Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved N10,000 monthly subsidy palliative for civil servants and pensioners on the payroll for six months.
Dr Edgar Amos Sunday, Chief of Staff Government House disclose this to newsmen on Wednesday in Yola.
Sunday who is the chairman special committee on mitigating the effect of fuel subsidy removal said Fintiri also approved full implementation of national minimum wage for Local Government workers with effect from August.

According to him, Governor had also approved procurement of 70 trucks of maize and 20 trucks of rice for distribution to citizenry at subsidised rate.
He added that the government will also purchase 50 trucks of fertilizer specifically for state civil servants at subsidized rate.
He also revealed plans to purchase shuttling buses for conveyance of workers to the state secretariat and inter local governments transportation.
Sunday said the measures were part of the recommendations submitted by the special committee constituted to cushion the effect of subsidy removal.
