ECOWAS Chairman Tinubu calls emergency summit to address Niger Republic coup

In the aftermath of the coup that has disrupted the constitutional political leadership in the Republic of Niger, President Bola Tinubu, the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Authority of Heads of State and Government, will convene a crucial gathering of regional leaders on Sunday, July 30th, in Abuja.

As the current Chairman of ECOWAS, President Tinubu personally condemned the ongoing political situation in the neighbouring country.

He expressed firm commitment to upholding democracy and ensuring that democratic governance continues to flourish in the sub-region.
