Super Falcons qualify for round of 16 unbeaten, Australia beats Canada 4-0 to finish top 

 

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the round of 16 unbeaten after wrapping up their final group game against the Republic of Ireland which ended 0-0 on Monday in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Super Falcons finished second in Group B with five points winning one game against hosts, Australia 3-2 and drawing goalless against Canada and Ireland.

Elsewhere, Australia finished top of the Group with six points after beating Canada 4-0 in their last group game played simultaneously with the Super Falcons versus Ireland.

It was a record outing for the Super Falcons who did not concede defeat at the group stage since their debut of the tournament in 1991.
