Akatugba to sue Babalakin’s Bi-Courtney Aviation Services over multiple taxation, extortions at Lagos airport (Video)

A renowned media practitioner, Mr Theophilus Akatugba, has threatened to sue Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited owned Mr Wale Babalakin, SAN, over multiple taxation and extortions at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2 (MMIA) in Lagos.

In a video sent to Neptune Prime on Thursday, Mr Akatugba complained bitterly about the lack of professionalism at airport where touts go about imposing fines extorting from passengers who either are boarding a plane or arriving.

Mr Akatugba while narrating his ordeal said he was at the MM2 last week Saturday, July 1, 2023 to pickup a party chieftain who arrived from Asaba, Delta State capital for a function, upon his arrival to take the guest to the destination he was approached by some touts at the waiting area under the canopy.

He noted that the touts were staff of a towing company identified as Don Rite Enterprise concessioned by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited.

He inquired from the touts and they told him he parked his car at the wrong place and that he would be penalised for the offence.

He actually pleaded for pardon if it was an offence to park at a drop off area being a first offender but the touts declined and insisted that he will have to pay a fine.

According to him, he was fined the sum of N32,800 for the offence which he knew nothing about.

He continued saying that he was billed and made transfer via their Point of Sales (POS) machine and was debited the touts refused to let him go because the company’s account has not been credited, he was forced to make another payment after they threatened to impound his vehicle.

This horrible experience according to Mr Akatugba is the reason why Nigeria is not a preferred tourist destination because of the stress foreigners and airport users in the country go through either boarding a plane or arrival at the airport.
