Bauchi dethrones 6 traditional rulers for involving in partisan politics

Six traditional rulers in Bauchi and Katagum Emirates have been relieved of their titles by the Bauchi State Local Government Service Commission.
The decision to dismiss them was made because of their involvement in partisan politics, misconduct, illegal encroachment on forest reserves, tree felling, misappropriation of public funds, and insubordination.
The affected traditional rulers include Alhaji Aminu Muhammad Malami (District Head of Udubo), Alhaji Bashir Kabir Umar (District Head of Azare), Umar Omar (Village Head of Gadiya), Umar Bani (Village Head of Tarmasuwa), Bello Suleiman (Village Head of Beni), and Alhaji Yusuf Aliyu Badara (Head of Badara), both from the Bauchi Emirate.

The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Nasiru Ibrahim Dewu, issued a statement announcing the dismissals.
The statement also directed the dismissed rulers to hand over their responsibilities to their secretaries.
Meanwhile, the Emirates’ council has been instructed to appoint overseeing officers until the commission appoints substantive officers for the positions.
