Bauchi welcomes new Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad

The Bauchi State Police Command welcomed its 45th Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, as he assumed duty.
CP Muhammad succeeds AIG Aminu Alhassan, who retired after 33 years of meritorious service to the nation.
A statement distributed to reporters in Bauchi by Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, SP Mohammed Ahmed Wakili, conveyed the following information:
The new CP expressed his gratitude to the Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu, for the confidence reposed in him. He stated that he would do everything humanly possible to justify the trust placed in him.
CP Muhammad, hailing from the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, joined the Nigerian Police Force in 1992.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Bayero University, Kano, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from the prestigious Bayero University, Kano.
Having attended various institutions and courses, including the Nigeria Police Academy in Kaduna, the Mobile Police Combat/Operations Course at the PMF Training School in Gwoza, Borno State, the Citizenship and Leadership Training Course in Jos, and the Advance Detective Course at the Nigeria Police Staff College in Jos, CP Muhammad is well-equipped with knowledge and experience in contemporary policing.
Additionally, he has completed the Middle Cadre Management Course in Kano, the Joint Police/Military Simulation Exercise “Operation Ruwanzafi” at the Command and Staff College in Jaji, the West African Police Foundation Course on Peacekeeping Operation at the Kofi Annan International Centre for Peacekeeping in Accra, Ghana, the Squadron Commander/Tactical Operation Course at the IIa-orangun Osun State Forest Camp, the National Security Course at the National Defence College in Abuja, the Economic and Financial Police Investigations and Intelligence course in Rome, Italy, the Strategic Leadership and Command Course at the Police Staff College in Jos, and the Higher Result Oriented Management Course organized by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in Badagry, Lagos.
Throughout his career, CP Muhammad has held several strategic positions encompassing all departments of the Force.
He has served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Fraud Unit State CID in Katsina State, Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) at Sabongari, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Daura, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Mashi Police Division, and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kafur Police Division, all in Katsina State.
Furthermore, he has served as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kano State Command, Staff Officer (Senior Matter), Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Garum Malam Division, and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Dakata Division, all in Kano State.
He has also been a Team Leader of the Special Enquiry Bureau at the Force Criminal Investigation Department FHQ in Abuja.
His accomplishments extend to being mobilized into the elite Mobile Police Force as Squadron Commander of Mopol 50 Squadron in Kubwa, Abuja, 2i/c Zonal Criminal Investigation Department at Zone 7 Hqtrs, Abuja, Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department in Kano, Area Commander, Area ‘E’ Festac Town in Lagos State Command, Area Commander Ikirun in Osun State Command, Squadron Commander 9 PMF in Kano, DC Operations in Akwa Ibom State, and IGP Liaison Officer at the National Assembly in Abuja.
Throughout these diverse roles, CP Muhammad has demonstrated exceptional vision, foresight, strength, and resilience in carrying out his duties.
Before his promotion to the esteemed rank of Commissioner of Police, he served as the Commandant of Police College, Maiduguri.
Due to his unwavering commitment and significant contributions to policing, CP Muhammad is honoured to be a Member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, headquartered in Virginia, USA. He is happily married and blessed with children.
