Innoson withdraws N3 million scholarship from Mmesoma following confession of forgery
Story from Musa Sakinat Abubakar
Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing (IVM) has decided to withdraw the N3 million scholarship it awarded to Mmesoma Ejikeme, following the confirmation that she manipulated her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.
The decision was made in response to the findings of the Anambra State commission of inquiry, which confirmed that Ms. Ejikeme falsified her result.

In a statement released by Innoson’s Head of Corporate Communications, Cornel Osigwe, the company expressed the difficulties faced when making this decision, but emphasized that it was necessary based on the verified information.
The statement explained that Innoson had initiated the investigation into the allegations surrounding Ms. Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme’s UTME results after she was initially awarded the scholarship due to her exceptional performance in the exam.
However, subsequent reports noted discrepancies in Ms. Joy’s UTME score, prompting Innoson to seek clarification from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In order to provide Ms. Joy with an opportunity to present her stance, Innoson engaged in direct dialogue with her.
Additionally, a committee established by the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, conducted an independent and thorough investigation into the matter.
The outcome of this comprehensive investigation confirmed that Ms. Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme indeed manipulated her UTME results.
This revelation deeply disappointed Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing, as it directly contradicts the values they hold dear, particularly those that underpin their scholarship program.
