NECO launches innovative e-portal for rapid results verification

The National Examination Council (NECO) has taken a significant step forward by introducing an e-portal for swift verification of results.

This move is aimed at enhancing confidence, reducing risks, and improving efficiency. The newly unveiled portal offers several features, including a flexible payment module, elimination of manual form filing, worldwide accessibility, reduced stress, and time-saving capabilities.

The Registrar of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, along with Mr. David Adejo, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, unveiled the e-portal today in Abuja.

Prof. Wushishi explained that the introduction of this platform was driven by the increasing demands for result verification and validation from 64 institutions in 37 countries between 2020 and 2022.

Additionally, there were numerous requests from 72 institutions within Nigeria during the same period, along with numerous individual requests.

“Given the rising need for verification and confirmation of results by institutions, both domestically and internationally, the council recognized that now was the opportune moment to introduce the e-verify platform,” Prof. Wushishi stated.

“Based on the data at our disposal, we have observed a significant number of requests for verification and confirmation of results from 64 institutions across 37 countries over a two-year period from 2020 to 2022.”

He further emphasized the importance of result verification as a crucial process for ensuring the accuracy of academic credentials.

By verifying the authenticity of candidates’ results, academic institutions and employers can have greater confidence in admitting and hiring individuals with the necessary qualifications for further studies and specific job requirements.

Likewise, Mr. David Adejo directed all educational institutions to utilize the e-portal for confirming results, warning that failure to do so would have severe consequences.
