Nigerian woman arrested, fined 150k Naira for eating boyfriend’s transport money
A lady found herself in court after being arrested by the Nigerian police in Enugu State.
The Enugu magistrate court issued an order for her to pay her boyfriend, Emeka Nwankwo, the sum of 150,000 Naira as compensation. This was due to an incident where Emeka Nwankwo had given Chinasa Nwibeh 3,000 Naira as transportation fare to visit him.
Unfortunately, Chinasa Nwibeh consumed the money and subsequently turned off her phone, leaving Emeka Nwankwo without any means of communication.
Frustrated by this betrayal, Emeka Nwankwo reported the incident to a nearby police station, leading to Chinasa Nwibeh’s arrest.
After reviewing the evidence presented by Emeka Nwankwo, including mobile money transfer records and WhatsApp messages exchanged between the couple, the judge made a ruling.
The court ordered Chinasa Nwibeh to pay 100,000 Naira as restitution, with an additional 50,000 Naira as compensation for emotional damages caused by her absence. The total sum amounted to 150,000 Naira.
The judge emphasized that this ruling served as a deterrent to other women who might engage in similar deceitful actions.
