Police arrest man for strangling student to death in Ondo

Authorities of the Ondo State Police have confirmed the apprehension of a 27-year-old man identified as Oke Loya, in connection with the death of a secondary school student in Arogbo, Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to reports, the victim, Timibra Meretighan, was attacked by the suspect within the premises of Ijaw National High School, Arogbo, while students were in the middle of their Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination.

Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect haphazardly entered the school premises and began pursuing the students. Unfortunately, he targeted Timibra, strangling him until his life was tragically taken away.
The school principal acted swiftly and promptly reported the incident to the local police station in the community.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed this sorrowful occurrence to journalists on Friday. She stated that the suspect claimed the students had labeled him a madman, which apparently led to the altercation.
The police spokesperson announced that the culprit has been arrested, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
