Shehu of Borno calls for prayers due to delayed rainfall

In response to the scarcity of rainfall affecting the 2023 farming season, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, the Shehu of Borno, has announced a prayer gathering to seek divine intervention regarding the rainfall situation.
The announcement was conveyed through a statement issued by Zannah Umar Ali, the Shehu’s private secretary, and made available to journalists in Maiduguri.
The Shehu has urged Muslims to participate in the upcoming congregational prayers, which aim to seek God’s intervention for rainfall in the state.

The two rakat prayers for rainfall will take place on Monday at Ramat Square in Maiduguri, starting at 10:00 am.
The statement also called upon Muslims of all ages, genders, and social statuses to attend the prayer gathering and seek God’s mercy regarding the shortage of rainfall.
