Tinubu urges Senate to confirm NEDC board members
President Bola Tinubu has penned a letter to the Senate, seeking their valuable confirmation for several prospective members of the governing board to the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
The dedicated individuals who have been nominated for this significant responsibility include General Paul Tarfa as Chairman, representing North East Adamawa; Honorable Gambo Maikyau as a member, representing North East Taraba; Abdullahi Abbas as a member, representing North West Kano; Zaf Steven Ondora as a member, representing North Central Benue; and Chief Mutiu Lawal Areh as a member, representing South West Lagos.
The nominees also encompass Samuel Ifeanyi Onuigbo as a member, representing South East Abia; Frank Achinike Owo as a member, representing South South Rivers; and Mohamed Goni Alkali, who has been nominated for the position of Managing Director, representing North East Borno.
Furthermore, there are a few exceptional individuals who have been nominated for re-appointment, given their invaluable contributions and expertise.
These include Musa Yashi, the Executive Director of Humanitarian Affairs, representing North East Bauchi; Ahmed Abdulsalam Yahaya, the Executive Director of Operations, representing North East Gombe; and Dr. Abubakar Garba Ileah, the Executive Director of Admin and Finance, representing North East Yobe.
The President’s letter was officially presented on the Senate floor by the respected Senate President, GodsWill Akpabio, during the plenary session on Wednesday.
